Since NHS-R Community found its new home in the Strategy Unit, we've collaborated with AphA and organised the 2 day Annual Conference for 300 delegates from the NHS, public sector, third sector and academia. The conference was a huge success and was fully booked in less than 2.5 hours, compelling us to move to a bigger venue in Birmingham to accommodate all.

The conference offered delegates an excellent opportunity to network with each other and, more importantly, learn about the value of R and how this can dramatically improve the way our analysts in the NHS and other public sectors explore and make sense of their data.

“I think that the organisation was excellent, and the quality of the workshops and talks offered was extremely high…. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with people that I already knew as well as meeting new friends. I have also come away with new skills to hone and new techniques to adopt and share in my work.”

Caroline Kovacs – PhD Researcher, University of Portsmouth

This year’s NHS-R community conference doubled all the numbers: with twice as many days, twice as many sessions per day and twice as many amazing delegates.

It was not only about quantity, but about quality – we got brilliant feedback from delegates and great reviews on Twitter.  We’re looking forward to making next year’s conference biggeR and betteR.

“I don't think I've got the words to describe how fantastic the event was, fantastic just isn't enough. I even presented at this conference after only learning R in the last couple of years. Truly, this was only possible because of the NHS-R community.”

Zoe Turner– Senior Information Analyst at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

“I had a fantastic two days with NHS-R community at the NHS-R Conference 2019. Learned huge amounts from the excellent workshops and listened to some truly inspiring speakers. Thank you so much to all who organised and spoke; I can’t wait to get back now and put it all into practice!”
