Shaurya is a Research Assistant in the Evaluation team, specialising in mixed methods research and evaluation of health and care programmes. She has a particular interest in health inequalities, mental health, and the social determinants of health. She applies qualitative analysis, evidence synthesis, and stakeholder engagement to understand how services operate in practice. Her work supports in making evidence-informed decisions, strengthening implementation, and designing more equitable and effective interventions.

Shaurya holds a master’s in public health. Before joining the Strategy Unit, she worked on mixed methods research, including projects exploring the association between migraines and perinatal mental illness, and housing as a determinant of health. She also contributed to policy-relevant research at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
At the Strategy Unit, recent projects include:
- Process and impact evaluation of NHS mental health rough sleeping programme
- Evaluation of NHS Talking Therapies, exploring interventions aimed at improving adherence and engagement
- Supporting the qualitative delivery of the design and feasibility of Combined Health Checks programme for people with learning disabilities, severe mental illness, and/or autism
- Supporting the national evaluation of the CORE20PLUS5 framework, including delivering a case study examining implementation within one ICS.
