James de Lacy
  • James specialises in economic analysis and strategic development. He enjoys working closely with organisations to better understand their needs, operating as an integrated and trusted member of their team. 

    James leads the Strategy Unit’s work on anchor institutions and Net Zero. This work helps health and care organisations understand how their choices affect local populations (economically, environmentally, socially). It also identifies the mechanisms they can use to enhance that impact to better influence the wider determinants of health and reduce health inequalities.

  • James has worked in the NHS for almost 10 years and has considerable experience in strategic consultancy projects. 

    His recent Strategy Unit work includes:

    • Producing a ‘model anchor institutions’ framework to help organisations understand their economic impact.

    • Developing a case for sustaining virtual working in the South East and the Midlands regions.

    • Examining the socio-economic and environmental impact of NHS services in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. 

    • Supporting the Birmingham and Solihull Population Health Management Strategy.
