Karen Bradley
Head of Strategic Change

Karen is a highly experienced leader of change providing Strategic Consultancy and Complex improvement services.  She has an eclectic career starting out as a Youth Worker (and sign writer!) before studying BSc Psychology and moving into the NHS as a National General Management Trainee. 

Since then, Karen’s 20+ years NHS experience has encompassed working in commissioning, acute hospital operational management, contract management and software development; before specialising in the people side of strategic change as a consultant within the Strategy Unit. Karen is a Principal Consultant at the Strategy Unit directing and delivering multi-specialist programmes of work across NHS and care providers and commissioners.

Karen has the rare skill of being able to develop a strategic plan and then operationalise it.  In recent years having worked comprehensively with General Practice she is able to apply her core skills to the complex system change required for continued development and delivery of ICS, STP and CCG delivery models.  Karen is a consummate communicator and developer of people and teams using innovative facilitation approaches grounded in the theories of complex change. This approach, linked with an understanding of the importance of people in change, has empowered Karen to be pivotal in the positive development of the Unit.
