Dechante is a researcher with expertise in mental health, social science, neuroscience, and health inequalities. With a BSc in Neuroscience (University of Exeter) and an MRes in Interdisciplinary Study (University of Birmingham), she applies mixed-method research to explore how environmental, psychological, and biological factors shape clinical outcomes. This sparked her interest in the broader social and policy dimensions of healthcare.
Alongside her academic background, Dechante has experience working in co-production, working with multidisciplinary teams to shape research, policy and service development for CAMHS services. She is committed to bridging the gap between lived experience, research and healthcare improvement through collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches to address complex healthcare challenges.

Dechante has experience working in both healthcare, policy and academic settings, applying her research expertise to real-word challenges. She has had a wide range of research experience working with diverse populations, particularly neurodivergent patients, applying both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to investigate mental health and neurological conditions.
Beyond academia, Dechante has experience in scientific communication. She has worked as health start-up article writer, translating complex health information into accessible content for the public. As part of the co-production team at West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative, she also has experience in mental health evaluation, ensuring lived experience informs service, development, policy and training.
