  • Katie is an experienced qualitative researcher passionate about using qualitative research to capture the views and experiences of patients, carers and healthcare professionals to improve services and outcomes. Her research interests include health inequalities and healthcare technology.

  • Katie has an academic background in sociology, completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s in sociology, with a focus on qualitative research methodology, gender inequality and the digitisation of contemporary society.

     

    At the Strategy Unit, Katie has worked as both a Research Assistant and Consultant, contributing to a wide range of evaluations. Her work includes developing research tools; coordinating and conducting qualitative data collection; analysing qualitative data

    and producing reports and case studies.

     

    Recent projects at the Strategy Unit include:

    • Researching patient experience waiting for elective care to inform minimum standards of elective care waiting lists

    • Evaluating interventions carried out by local mental health services to increase patient adherence to therapy
