Simon leads the Strategy Unit partnership with the New Hospital Programme - he is a member of the programme's senior leadership team and oversees delivery of the analytics workstream. This work forms a critical underpinning for investment decisions involving billions of pounds of public capital and its quality and transparency has been recognised by the National Audit Office and awards from the Royal Statistical Society and Health Foundation. He trained as a doctor before moving into a series of roles in commissioning, academia and management consultancy. He has led a range of programmes with the Strategy Unit, including regional initiatives to improve the quality of decision-making, supporting system reconfiguration plans and projects to enable high-quality evaluation and uptake of innovations
