Summary: This session begins with Professor Jon Glasby describing IMPACT – a new £15 million UK centre that he leads for implementing evidence in adult social care, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and the Health Foundation.

Jon will then be joined by Pete Jackson (WM ADASS) and an individual with lived experience of care services for a panel discussion. The panel will discuss how we can best use evidence to improve adult social care – including knowledge from research, the lived experience of people using services and their carers and the practice wisdom of social care staff. It will explore some of the barriers currently faced in moving insight to action and panel members’ reflections on what is needed to overcome these.
